LIBERIA & LOUISIANA COLLECTIVE IMPACT BANQUET
Each year CAN has a banquet where we celebrate our collective impact, progress, and we gain the inspiration necessary to accomplish our goals. The CAN Family is blessed to present this year’s banquet with the theme: Louisiana and Liberia Collective Impact for Social Change. We believe that a collaborative event of this kind will provide a great opportunity to shed light on many critical issues facing both Liberia and Louisiana in the areas of education, , economic opportunities, healthcare, and love for humanity from a Christian prospective.
ERIC WOWOH - CHIEF HOST
Mr. Eric Willise Wowoh. is a former refugee from the West African nation of Liberia. Since 2015, he has lived as a permanent resident of Dallas, Texas. He came to the United States in 2006 on a refugee resettlement program administered by the U.S. Government and the Catholic Diocese of Acadiana, Louisiana. He arrived knowing no one, without funds or a job, full of fear and confusion. By God’s grace, he was befriended by kind people in Lafayette, LA, and he gradually gained his footing. He realized there must be a larger purpose in his rescue from poverty and civil war, that he endured. throughout his fourteen years in refugee camps, in Africa. Soon the answer came to him that he was to do all he could to help the people of his country to recover from a long civil war by educating the children and providing work for the adults. As a result, he founded the non-profit, Change Agent Network, Inc. (CAN), with the goal of transforming the entire nation of Liberia through education, mentorship, and sustainable development. This awesome work is fueled by the power of prayer. Oh! It’s just God!! Currently, 23 schools have been established, educating thousands of children in six counties in Liberia and the Change Agent Network University (CAN-U) was also built.
