Leftovers From The American Dream
"Giving hope to the underserved people of Liberia, Africa with our extra stuff and the things we discard"
Let Nothing Be Wasted!
“When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." (John 6:12)
“I am NOT asking for the American Dream. All that I’m asking for is the LEFTOVERS from the American Dream. Yesterday's Treasure, Tomorrow's Hope are things that Americans considered important and valuable yesterday but become trash when something newer, better, or perhaps a different color, shape or size came along. By donating these things to CAN to ship to Liberia, West Africa, Americans have an opportunity to become better stewards of their abundant resources and can, in effect, build a waste free society at the same time making a difference and adding value to uncountable lives in underserved communities in my county Liberia.”
Eric Wowoh - Founder & Executive Director of Change Agent Network (CAN).

What is this program?
In a world where excess overshadows need CHANGE AGENT NETWORK’s groundbreaking program, “American Leftovers - Containers of Hope” is a new initiative. It shines a bright light on the transformative power of generosity by linking communities in the U.S. with those in Liberia.
Through partnerships with businesses, schools, churches, and individuals we re-purpose surplus items like laptops, cell phones, I-pads, clothing, musical instruments, shoes etc., redirecting them from a future life in a landfill. What is out of style, wrong size, or slightly broken can be put to good use by less fortunate children and their families. This program is much more than just distributing resources, it’s about dignity, hope and a new opportunity for individuals facing severe hardships.
Join us in turning leftovers and extras of the “American Dream” into Containers of Hope for those who need it most. Together yen CAN create a future of opportunity for those who otherwise would have little help or hope.
Why is this program important?
How did this program get started?
American Leftovers is the foundation for CAN’s program in the US.
When Eric came to America, he was overwhelmed and shocked by the American excess, waste, and choices.
Put that “waste” to good use
Extra computers, celll phones tools, clothing and so forth can
be donated
Transformed lives of Liberians and Americans giving many a sense of purpose
Once in Liberia, empty containers are repurposed as schools, workshops, storage, etc.
2 containers per year are shipped to Liberia
Ultimately, the ripple effects of this program extend beyond immediate assistance, creating pathways for empowerment, dignity, and sustainability for all those involved. Through the American Leftovers program, we’re not just addressing hunger; we’re building a more equitable and compassionate society, one container of hope at a time.
“We don’t want the American Dream... just the leftovers.”
No money - no problem, your everyday stuff can go and
give hope a chance and change lives for you in Liberia.
Eric started this program by going dumpster diving in 2006, and we’re still here, give us a call... we will take your trash.
American animals have hospitals, daycares and apparel stores. They also feed the birds evey year. We can do both, take care of pets and children at the same time.
